Pumpkin Sandwich Bread

A uniquely flavored loaf that is also wonderful toasted and served with butter.
Pumpkin Sandwich Bread

½ cup milk
½ cup pumpkin puree
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¾ teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
2-1/4 cup bread flour
2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Bread machine instructions:

Place ingredients in bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer. Select dough mode.

Traditional instructions:

Warm milk slightly. Dissolve yeast in milk. In mixer, combine remaining ingredients. Add yeast mixture. Mix well. Turn onto floured surface and knead. Cover and allow to rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes or until doubled in bulk.

To bake bread in oven:

When dough is ready, shape dough and place in a greased loaf pan. Cover and allow to rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes or until doubled in bulk. Bake at 350º F for 35-45 minutes.
